The School for Black Feminist Politics (SBFP) is a Black feminist political education initiative and hub powered by Black Women Radicals. Established in 2020

Seeing that the proposal for the establishment of an African Women’s Human Rights Defenders Platform (aka The Feminist Republik) garnered significant support and excitement from WHRDs across the continent and in the diaspora, the Fund has decided to convene a small group of WHRDs and feminist experts in varying fields to a Feminist Republik conclave in Nairobi, Kenya from 6th-7th October, 2018.

We are a constellation of African feminists who are steeped in pan-African visions for a liberated Africa. These visions enable us to dare to believe that there are ample solutions and resources to the many pandemics that our continent faces. This special issue, edited by the co-directors of the African Feminist Initiative (AFI) at Pennsylvania State University, is a partnership between Meridians and the AFI. The issue builds on the AFI's work to promote the study of African feminist thought and activism within the U.S. academy and to create equitable partnerships between scholars and practitioners of African feminism.
